Rectorat - centre en philanthropie

In his talk, Prof. Colin Mayer challenges the idea prevailing over the past 60 years that the purpose of a business is to increase profit. He argues that companies should exist to solve problems, with making profit being derived from this purpose.
This talk was part of the International conference “Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy – Forthcoming Challenges and Realities” that took place in June 2022, organised by the GCP in partnership with the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship. It aimed at stimulating the development, exchange, and dissemination of ideas related to this social entrepreneurship.

Prof. Colin Mayer, Blavatnik School of Government, and Emeritus Professor, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, U.K.
