ISSOP 2015 : Sustainable Development Goals (post-2015): A booster for Child health and Children’s Rights

For the 33rd Annual Meeting of the International society for social pediatrics and child health (ISSOP), participants and speakers alike will explore what the next Sustainable Development Goals can bring to our practices, under the Children’s rights and with the known social determinants of child and adolescent health. All countries will be affected by these new goals. In the third week of September 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals will be finalized and adopted as part of a United Nations Summit and will come into force in January 2016. The acceptation of these objectives by our countries represents an opportunity for the health of children and adolescents, but raises a number of issues. We are counting on your contribution to this dynamic annual meeting, focused on issues that participants will raise and examples from practice. The set-up of the meeting will encourage exchanges between participants during workshops and plenary sessions. With the contributions of each and every one, we will produce concrete proposals for practitioners, for academics and for the professionals building or influencing public policy. Of course, we will have some entertainment, as well as the opportunity to visit one of the major international organisations in Geneva. We invite you to register now. The call for contributions will follow in February 2015. We are excited at the prospect of sharing these three days that will help identify ways of improving health, protection and well-being of children and adolescents. On behalf of the organizing committee Olivier Duperrex
